WUSC Carleton is excited to ring in the New Year after the success of our events in the fall semester. We are pleased to share with you some of the goals we accomplished last term. Among them was being able to welcome two new students to the Carleton community, a first for the university.
The initiatives in the fall semester helped in raising funds through the Future Funder project which when set up at the beginning of the term had a goal of $12,000 to sponsor one additional student. However, with the support of faculty members, student clubs and the Carleton community at large the funds continued to grow.
WUSC Carleton with the help of UNICEF and Oxfam and the sponsorship of RRRA and the Student Philanthropy Council was able to host the United for a Cause Gala, selling out of tickets and raising further funds to support the ongoing refugee crisis.
With events to come this semester, WUSC Carleton continues on with the goal to support the Student Refugee Program (SRP) in the fight to show that education can change the world.
Stay tuned for more events and information to come.
