The main focus of our committee is the Student Refugee Program (SRP). Through a student levy, we are able to sponsor a refugee from overseas to come to Carleton University and pursue an undergraduate degree. It’s the only program in the world that pairs resettlement with post-secondary education, creating a tangible and long-term difference for the sponsored student. Our university was the very first to sponsor a refugee through the Student Refugee Program way back in 1978! Since then, the program has expanded to over 70 campuses across Canada.

 

This year, our dynamic team is composed of incredibly passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated individuals. We organize events, awareness campaigns, attend leadership meetings and international forums. Come join our Local Committee, we love welcoming new energy to our student group.
